The benchmark study “European Cities and Regions of the Future 2010/11” by the fDi Magazine, assessed 223 cities and 142 regions in Europe and ranked Lithuania’s capital city Vilnius the 2nd Best Large European City for Cost Effectiveness, with Riga (Latvia) standing on the very top and Lviv (Ukraine) ranking third.
The benchmark study “European Cities and Regions of the Future 2010/11” by the fDi Magazine, assessed 223 cities and 142 regions in Europe and ranked Lithuania’s capital city Vilnius the 2nd Best Large European City for Cost Effectiveness, with Riga (Latvia) standing on the very top and Lviv (Ukraine) ranking third.
Lithuania’s second and fifth largest cities Kaunas and Panevėžys were ranked among the Top 5 Small and Top 5 Micro European Cities for Cost Effectiveness. The Top 1st Small European City for Cost Effectiveness and Top 1st Micro European City for Cost Effectiveness awards went to Romania’s city Brasov and Latvia’s city Ventspils, respectively.
“fDi Benchmark” is an independent database which benchmarks global locations according to how attractive they are to foreign investors. “European Cities and Regions of the Future 2010/11” cities were were divided by population and assessed under six categories: economic potential, human resources, cost effectiveness, quality of life, infrastructure and business friendliness. All cities were divided by population and assessed within the framework of six categories mentioned above.
