On 2 September in Jūrmala (Latvia), Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Petras Vaitiekūnas had an informal meeting with Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maris Riekstins and Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Urmas Paet. The heads of Baltic States’ diplomacy discussed the most important issues on the agenda of the upcoming Informal Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (Gymnich) in Avignon which is due on 5-6 September.

The Ministers devoted most attention to the situation in Georgia, conclusions of the European Council, and the EU-Russia relations. Heads of diplomacy of the Baltic States also discussed concrete measures of assistance to Georgia.
