Institutions of Ghowr administration and security were supported from the Development Cooperation and Democracy Promotion Programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The assistance project is intended to back up capabilities of local administration institutions and to create more favourable conditions for their activities, especially for those in the fields of public security and safety ensurment. The project covered procurement of 40 motorbikes and the same number of electricity generators. Remaining equipment will be distributed later.
Upon donation, new vehicles were tested by PRT-7 Commander Col. Ramunas Baronas and Chief Chaghcharan Police Shah Jehan Noori. “Last year I visited Lithuania. The country and its people left a warm impression. I am very glad to be able to say these words to you today thanking for the donation. New vehicles will motivate Ghowr officers to perform their duty with more devotion,” said Chief Ghowr Police.
Motorbike is one of the most suitable vehicles for poor-conditioned roads of Ghowr.
