Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas offers his most sincere condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones during the terrorist act in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, on 28 October.

“We condemn the terrorist attack, during which civilian employees of the United Nations mission in Afghanistan perished. We believe that such actions will not impede the efforts of Afghanistan’s Government and the international community to guarantee security and stability in the country, and will not weaken the aspiration of the people of Afghanistan to fulfil their constitutional duty and to elect the head of their state democratically,” head of Lithuania’s diplomacy said.

“We shall make joint effort pursuing the creation of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan, so that there would be no place for terrorism and brutality in this country,” Minister V.Ušackas stated.

The Minister also stressed that Lithuania supported the UN activities in Afghanistan. Lithuania is in solidarity with employees of the UN mission and their commitment to achieve progress and peace in the region.
