Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis met with the parliamentary delegation from Moldova, that is paying a visit to Lithuania at the invitation of Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. International Republican Institute and the Parliamentary Forum of the Community of Democracies, which is currently chaired by Lithuania.
On 26 May in Vilnius, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis met with the parliamentary delegation from Moldova, that is paying a visit to Lithuania at the invitation of Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the U.S. International Republican Institute and the Parliamentary Forum of the Community of Democracies, which is currently chaired by Lithuania.
During the meeting with Members of Moldova’s Parliament, who represent various political parties, Minister A.Ažubalis reiterated support to Moldova's European integration aspirations and encouraged the country to further consistently implement democratic and economic reforms.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs particularly highlighted Moldova’s own efforts to address domestic problems and find optimal solutions that would satisfy public interests of Moldova.
On 23-27 May, series of meetings and lectures are organized during the visit of Members of Moldova’s Parliament to Lithuania. The aim of the visit is to promote democratic and economic reforms in Moldova and to share with this country Lithuania’s experience of integration into the European Union.
The Parliamentary Forum of the Community of Democracies was launched this year in Vilnius. The Parliamentary Forum joins together parliamentarians from over eighteen different countries around the world, launches the experience and best practice sharing projects with parliamentarians for the promotion of democratic values and reforms in Europe’s Eastern neighbourhood.
The Community of Democracies is an intergovernmental structure. The goal of this organization is to strengthen and consolidate democracy worldwide. The Community of Democracies joins together over 100 democratic and transition countries.
