On 27 May in Vilnius, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis met with prominent figure of the world’s Lithuanian community, scientist and conservationist Dr. Birutė Galdikas.
On 27 May in Vilnius, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Ažubalis met with prominent figure of the world’s Lithuanian community, scientist and conservationist Dr. Birutė Galdikas.
During the meeting, Minister A.Ažubalis highlighted the significant contribution of the scientist to the natural environment and wildlife protection, and also to the promotion of Lithuania’s name around the world.
The Minister thanked B.Galdikas for her efforts to support scientific research in the field of environment and to help Lithuanian students get internship opportunities in foreign countries.
The activities of B.Galdikas are mostly related to the study and conservation of orangutans. The scientist also actively contributes to solving conservation and wildlife protection problems.
International Birutė Galdikas ecology charity and support foundation is established in Lithuania. One of the key goals of the foundation is to provide charity and support, and other help for education, culture, science and environment. The foundation also greatly contributes to the presentation of environmental problems to the society of Lithuania in the light of international issues.
