Dalia Grybauskaitė išrinkta Lietuvos prezidente

President Valdas Adamkus phoned President-elect Dalia Grybauskaitė this morning after midnight and congratulated her on winning the presidential election.
 
President Adamkus wished Dalia Grybauskaite success in preparing to discharge the important duties of Lithuania's head of state.

"I am greatly delighted that the people of Lithuania demonstrated strong political will and elected the new president of Lithuania in the first round," Mr. Adamkus said.

President Adamkus further said that he and his team were ready to work together with the President -elect and her team to ensure a smooth handover of office.
