President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus presented letters of credence to Sigutė Jakštonytė as Lithuania's Ambassador to Malaysia and Singapore, and to Vaclovas Šalkauskas as Lithuania's Ambassador to Argentina.
President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus presented letters of credence to Sigutė Jakštonytė as Lithuania's Ambassador to Malaysia and Singapore, and to Vaclovas Šalkauskas as Lithuania's Ambassador to Argentina.
Presenting letters of credence to Ambassador S. Jakštonytė, the President talked about the need to promote economic, cultural and scientific cooperation between Lithuania and South Asian countries, to boost investment, and to implement and develop innovations.
Wishing successful work to Ambassador V. Šalkauskas, the President underlined the increasing importance of the Latin American region to Lithuania in the field of economic and cultural cooperation. “Lithuania is the only Baltic state that has an Embassy in Argentina and the relations with this country are particularly important both in terms of market development opportunities and the active Lithuanian community there,” the President said. The Head of State also underlined the importance of the bonds of the Lithuanian diaspora with its homeland.
