President of the Republic of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus sent congratulations to the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov on the Independence Day.

"I am happy that our relations are built on mutual respect and trust. Lithuania believes in Your country's aspirations to create a safe, peaceful and prosperous state, and is committed to working together by maintaining the traditions of mutual trust and friendly relations," writes the President in the letter of congratulations. 

President Adamkus expresses confidence that Lithuania and Turkmenistan, cherishing their friendly interrelations, will make joint efforts towards a deeper and more dynamic bilateral cooperation.

The Lithuanian President also invites the Turkmen President to visit Vilnius next year.
