President Adamkus thanked Mr. Jean-Michel Halfon, President of one of the leading biomedical and pharmaceutical companies in the world, for his vast support for sports, education and health care, and urged him to develop further their research and investment activities.
“In Lithuania you have reliable partners and an adequate potential for developing clinical research,” the Head of State said.
President Adamkus underlined he valued positively Lithuania’s potential to engage in clinical research.
“Lithuanian researchers are prepared to cooperate in clinical research and to use this know-how for the solution of specific healthcare problems,” the President of Lithuania said.
In his meeting with “Vattenfall” President Lars Josefsson, President Adamkus invited his company to step into the Lithuanian market and join the Swedish capital which enjoys success in our country.
The Head of State noted the importance of economic relations between Lithuania and Sweden, especially in the field of energy. They also discussed large-scale energy projects to be implemented in the future and projects that had already been implemented.
“We have an idea to build a separate energy network connecting Scandinavia, Baltic countries and Poland,” President Adamkus said.
“Vattenfall” is one of the leading energy companies in Sweden.
