President of the Republic of Lithuania and NATO Secretary General will visit Aviation Base of the Lithuanian Air Force

On October 9 President of the Republic of Lithuania H.E. Dalia Grybauskaitė and NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen will visit Aviation Base of the Lithuanian Air Force in Šiauliai. Lithuanian Head of State will be accompanied by the Minister of National Defence Rasa Juknevičienė, Chief of Defence Maj. Gen. Arvydas Pocius, Lithuania's Permanent Representative to NATO Ambassador Linas Linkevičius, and other members of Lithuanian delegation.

At the Aviation Base NATO and Lithuanian authorities will meet with the German Air Contingent conducting NATO Baltic Air-policing mission, take a look at „Eurofighter" fighter-jets, and hear a briefing on expansion of Šiauliai Military Airfield.

Media representatives wishing to cover the visit of the President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė and NATO Secretary General A. F. Rasmusen in the LAF Aviation Base are invited to to register before October 8, 14.00 hrs at the PR Department of MoND: e-mail: vis@kam.lt , phone: +370 5 2735519, +370 5 2785 208. Name, surname, identity code, represented media vehicle, contact phone number and e-mail address will be required for the registration, unregistered media representatives will not be allowed to take in the event.

Please gather in the Aviation Base (Lakūnų Str. 3, Šiauliai) on October 9 before 10.30hrs, have personal identification document and reporter's certificate on you. No access into the territory of the Aviation Base will be granted in personal cars.

Media representatives departing for the from Vilnius will be able to use microbus of MoND. Please notify about your intention during registration. The microbus will leave from MoND (Totorių Str. 25/3) at 7.30hrs.

Media representatives will be carried from the Aviation Base HQ to the NATO QRA zone for the second part of the event by a separate bus.

Cameramen and photographers will cover the event from predestined locations in the Aviation Base, no free movement in the Aviation Base will be allowed.
