President Dalia Grybauskaitė signed a decree on July 21 establishing a working group to submit proposals for amending the Law on the Protection of Minors Against the Detrimental Effect of Public Information so that all legislative measures should be taken as soon as possible to improve it and find legal not populist solution.
The working group includes representatives of social sciences and human rights specialists: professor Gediminas Mesonis and assistant professor Edita Žiobienė from Mykolas Romeris University, professor Vytautas Mizaras and assistant professor Dainius Pūras from Vilnius University, and Chairman of the Lithuanian Journalists' Union Dainius Radzevičius. The group's work will be coordinated by Chief Adviser to the President Solveiga Cirtautienė.
