President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė goes for a working visit to Brussels to attend an informal meeting of the European Council. The European Council gathers to discuss the EU institutional matters and the functioning of the Community after the Lisbon Treaty comes into force. The EU leaders will also discuss possible candidatures to the positions of the President of the European Council and the High Representative for Foreign Affairs. By giving “green light” to the Lisbon Treaty, the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic has eliminated the last obstacle for the Treaty to come into force in the European Union.
