Iran's hard-line Revolutionary Guards has issued a warning to reformers, saying they had exceeded all bounds in recent months by "openly supporting subversion on the streets"

AFP quotes a statement by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) high command saying that opponents of the Islamic state had infiltrated the regime and were hoping to take advantage of the country's economic woes to introduce a secular regime.
The statement said the IRGC would not stand by but would defend the revolution and the Islamic state.
Correspondents say in recent months the reformist administration of President Mohammad Khatami has run into mounting opposition from conservatives who still dominate the security forces and the Judiciary.
