Purpose of training is sharpening skills of planning and implementing defensive actions of the steering groups of BALTBAT subdivisions. Exercise tasks for the steering groups will include terrain reconnaissance, and procedures of command and control. Particular attention during the training will be paid to integration of all antitank weaponry firing systems, planning of their employment, and their integration into the overall Battalion's fire (direct and indirect) system.
The training will be conducted on the basis of BALTBAT Combat Training Plan 2009.
The trilateral Baltic Battalion was formed in September 2007 from capabilities contributed by Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The main task of the Battalion is reaching full operational capability for duty in NATO Response Force (NRF-14) before 2010 and maintaining it for a half-year duty period.
