OSCE acting chairman, Dutch foreign minister Jaap de Hoop Scheffer announced about his intention to discuss the possible influence of the elections upon Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement in the course of his visit to the South Caucasus.
As reported by Mediamax agency, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer's visit to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia is expected October 21-23. The OSCE head noted that the latest statements by the Armenian and Azeri presidents regarding the new possibilities of settling Nagorno Karabakh conflict after the elections encourage him. "I intend to call the parties to reconciliation", - Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said. Commenting on the situation in Azerbaijan after the presidential elections, the diplomat noted, that "Azeri leadership should draw the moral from what had happened".
