The President discussed foreign policy issues with ambassadors of EU states

President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė met with ambassadors of the European Union Member States who reside in Lithuania.

In the meeting, the President made a brief presentation of domestic policy issues, the results of the European Council meeting that took place last week in Brussels, the immediate tasks of Lithuania's foreign policy, Lithuania's preparedness for the chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), and NATO and OSCE summits to be held before the end of the year.

The President thanked the ambassadors for their contribution in strengthening bilateral relations between Lithuania and their respective countries and in cooperating within international organizations, and expressed hope this nice tradition of meeting would bring the countries still closer together.

The President also shared information on the results of her meetings with the Ukrainian and Belarusian Presidents.

This was the third meeting of President Dalia Grybauskaitė with resident ambassadors of EU states. These meetings are traditionally held twice a year on the initiative of the country which holds Presidency of the European Union at that time.
