The President left to Lisbon to attend NATO Summit

President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė left to Lisbon to attend NATO Summit that starts today.

The agenda of the Summit includes the approval of the new Strategic Concept. Heads of State will also discuss NATO cooperation with other countries, the international mission in Afghanistan, and other important issues. Also, NATO–Russia Council Summit will take place in Lisbon.

According to the President of Lithuania, the new NATO Strategic Concept will transform the Alliance and make it more effective, stronger and better prepared to counter new challenges.

“For the first time ever, NATO Strategic Concept will provide for real security guarantees for each Ally. I am pleased Lithuania has contributed actively to this. From now on, our country and other Baltic states will have concrete defense plans,” President Dalia Grybauskaitė said.
