President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė presented letters of credence to Loreta Zakarevičienė as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of Poland.
The President underlined at the ceremony that mutually-beneficial Lithuanian-Polish political, economic and cultural relations were a solid foundation of close cooperation between the two countries. The President wished the Ambassador every success in furthering these successful bilateral relations.
The 54-year-old Ambassador is a graduate of the University Vilnius. She started her diplomatic career in 2000, first in the NATO Integration Division of the Security Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then at Lithuania's Permanent Delegation to NATO and Lithuania's Embassy in Moldova.
Before being appointed to Warsaw, the diplomat served as the Prime Minister's foreign policy adviser. She is the fifth ambassador of Lithuania to Poland since the renewal of diplomatic relations in 1991.
