Recalling the meeting of the heads of the three Baltic states on September 10 in Riga, the President expressed appreciation of good Lithuanian-Latvian relations and stressed the need to continue and strengthen cooperation between the two countries on important energy-related issues. According to the President, it is very important that the two states work hand in hand, seeking political and financial support from the European Union for vital projects.
Martinš Virsis, who has a doctor's degree in history, has led diplomatic missions of the Republic of Latvia in Austria and Germany.
