The President sent congratulations to President-elect of Brazil

President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė congratulated Mrs. Dilma Rousseff on her victory in the presidential election of the Federative Republic of Brazil.

"I am sincerely delighted that a woman leader will stand for the first time at the presidential helm in the largest country of Latin America. I wish you strong resolve, commitment and all the very best in your new responsible position," the President writes in the letter of congratulations.

President Dalia Grybauskaitė wished the Brazilian President-elect to pursue successfully the goals that she set for herself, such as poverty reduction, development of education, support to families and economic growth.

"I am especially pleased that you have placed gender equality among top priorities of your political agenda. I would like to take the opportunity to kindly invite you to Lithuania on June 30 of next year for a high-level meeting on global gender equality. The meeting will conclude Lithuania's presidency of the Community of Democracies," the President's letter further reads.
