Russia and Lithuania have a number of technical problems to solve for simpler transit to and from the Kaliningrad region starting from July 1, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Antanas Valionis said after a session of the Lithuanian-Russian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation, Prime Tass reports.
Experts have finalized the draft in general, the rules have been signed at the European Union, but "there are some subtle points left," he said.
It is the matter of transferring computer data about Russian passengers to the Lithuanian embassy in Moscow and consular services in other cities after the passengers have bought tickets to the Kaliningrad region. It is also the matter of work of Lithuanian consular representatives on trains to the Kaliningrad region, their status, protection and other aspects.
