Azerbaijian President Ilham Aliyev met with visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing on Saturday in Baku.
At the meeting Aliyev said that Azerbaijian and China have good relations and support each other in the international affairs. He stressed Azerbaijian firmly stands by the "one China principle".
Aliyev said both Azerbaijian and China dedicate efforts to peace-keeping and development of economy. He noted that Azerbaijian welcomes the investment and cooperation of Chinese enterprises in Azerbaijian's energy, chemical industry, traffic, tourism and other fields.
The president also said that his country is keen to intensify the cooperation with China in culture and education, sanitation and sport.
Positively evaluating the Sino-Azerbaijian relations, Li Zhaoxing, for his part, expressed appreciation for the support of the Azerbaijian government in the "one China principle".
He said China is willing to intensify exchange and cooperation of the two countries in political, economic and cultural scopes.
At the same day Li Zhaoxing also had meetings with Azerbaijian Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammedyarov and Minister of Economic Development Farkhad Aliyev.
