Representatives of the Democratic Moldova Bloc (BMD) met on Monday with heads of Western embassies in Chisinau to update the ambassadors about the situation in Moldova.
Taking part in meeting were the ambassadors of France, Germany, Hungary, Poland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
BMD chairman Serafim Urechean said after meeting that he informed the ambassadors about "situation after latest repressive actions in Chisinau and Moldova in general." According to Urechean, the heads of diplomatic missions were notified in connection with "grave violations committed by the Communist government, particularly about arrest of the three functionaries of the Chisinau City Hall." "Also, the ambassadors were informed about actions of the Communist faction in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) which boycotted last session, so that the CMC was unable to solve any problems of residents of capital," Urechean stressed.
Speaking about a decision of the Court of Appeal to suspend two deputy mayors and five praetors from offices, Urechean said that "the justice in Moldova is also serving the Communists and work only at their indication." He expressed optimism that "maybe the ambassadors would use the diplomatic ways to solve many problems faced by society."
