Lukashenko lashes Russian "terrorism" despite gas deal

Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has caved in to Russian demands for his country to pay higher prices for gas - but he savaged what he called Moscow's"terrorism." He said accepting the terms would mean taking money away from the most needy members of society.
Russian state firm Gazprom froze its supplies overnight, accusing Belarus of diverting gas illegally and raising jitters at the EU Commission about the possible effect on European consumers.
Gazprom later renewed supplies.
Belarus has struck a deal for cheap gas until the end of the month with Russian firm NAFTA. After that it will be time to bite the bullet.
