The trilateral conversation

The bilateral meeting of Presidents Robert Kocharyan and Heydar Aliyew did not take place in Moscow. The heads of Armenia and Azerbaijan did not think the meeting twosome was expedient and discussed the Karabakh conflict settlement process at the trilateral meeting in which the President of Russia also participated. According to Russian foreign minister Igor Ivanov, Robert Kocharyan and Heydar Aliyev appealed to Vladimir Putin to make Russia's role in the Azerbaijan-Armenia conflict settlement process more active. Commenting the results of the trilateral conversation, Azerbaijan's foreign minister has stated « no progress was made at the talks». Within the CIS summit framework, the meeting of so called «Caucasian four»: the Presidents of Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Russia also took place. Besides the settlement of the regional conflicts, at the meeting the questions regarding the struggle against the international terrorist were also touched. Robert Kocharyan also met with the President of Bellorussia with whom he discussed the process of the realization of the agreements achieved at the October visit of Alexander Lukashenko to Yerevan.
