Today, November 25, President Valdas Adamkus is leaving for Tallinn to participate in the summit meeting of the Baltic States.
The Baltic Summit annually gathers the presidents of the three Baltic States. At their meeting in Tallinn on Tuesday, the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian presidents will discuss trilateral cooperation in the field of energy and also relations with Russia, Georgia and other eastern neighbors, including Ukraine and Belarus. Among the other issues on the agenda are the current financial crisis and related problems.
Following their meeting, Valdas Adamkus, Valdis Zatlers and Toomas Hendrik Ilves will hold a joint press conference.
Later on in the day, President Adamkus will attend the opening of the exhibition “Lithuania: Culture and History” dedicated to the Millennium of Lithuania and the festive commemoration of the 90th anniversary of Lithuanian Armed Forces at the Lithuanian Embassy in Tallinn.
Valdas Adamkus will return to Vilnius Tuesday evening.
