Vice Minister of National Defence take part in informal NATO Defence Ministers‘ meeting

On October 9-10 Vice Minister of National Defence Antanas Valys will participate in an informal NATO Defence Minsters’ meeting in Budapest (Hungary) held to discuss future plans of the Alliance and assess each Alliance’s operation individually.

The meeting will address critical issues of NATO transformation. The Ministers will look at the issues of the NATO RF employment, revision of defence planning, and perspectives of the NATO hq reforms. Particular attention will be paid for the operation in Afghanistan.

First session of the recently established NATO-Georgian Commission will also take place in the framework of the meeting.

In the Budapest meeting Vice Minister A.Valys will be accompanied by Undersecretary of the Ministry of National Defence Andrius Krivas, Permanent Representative of Lithuania to NATO Ambassador Linas Linkevicius, and National Military Representative to NATO Gen. Maj. Vitalijus Vaiksnoras.

The following informal meeting of the NATO Defence Ministers is scheduled in Cracow, Poland.
