Lithuanian PM to negotiate long-term oil supply with Russia.
Premier Rolandas Paksas, when interviewed by a group of Russian reporters in Vilnius, revealed that Lithuania wished to make arrangements with Russia for long-term oil supply. Although admitting that perhaps it was not realistic to achieve such kind of agreement during his working visit to Moscow at the beginning of coming week, Paksas confessed he would be satisfied if both parties announced intentions to conclude such contract soon. He briefed reporters on meeting with the President of American Williams Co. -- the strategic investor in Lithuanian oil economy -- John Bumgarner and their discussion of Russian oil supply but gave no details. The premier confirmed eagerness of Lithuania to supply food products to Russia and Kaliningrad but
mentioned mentioned the pending payment problems, in particular those for construction work carried out by Lithuanian firms in Kaliningrad.
