On 28 January, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas received a group of twelfth-grade pupils from a secondary school of Saulkrasti, the city of Latvia.
On 28 January, Lithuania’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vygaudas Ušackas received a group of twelfth-grade pupils from a secondary school of Saulkrasti, the city of Latvia. In the end of 2008, a team of this school won a quiz, which was organised by Latvia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The team of the Saulkrasti secondary school won the trip to Vilnius. The pupils are visiting the Embassy of Latvia in Vilnius, the Seimas (Parliament) of the Republic of Lithuania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister V.Ušackas acquainted pupils with the work of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told them about cooperation of the Lithuanian and Latvian schools and possibilities for their youth to communicate.
The Latvian pupils also visited the exhibition “The Millennium Diplomacy” that is on display at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
