2020: Almost 5 Billion Internet Users

Published: 11 February 2020 y., Tuesday

Recently we exchanged congratulations with friends in a telephone conversation. On New Year's Eve, the lines were often busy. Now, due to the growing popularity of the Internet and special communications programs, telephone greetings have changed the format to online messages. This year, 4.5 billion people congratulated each other using the worldwide network. According to International Telecommunication Union, it is this number of active internet users, encompassing 58 percent of the global population. By the way, men use the network more often than women do by 27%. This ratio is even higher in the Pacific, Africa, and the Middle East.

We can be proud that we live in Lithuania, a country with a high level of innovative development, where more than 83% of the population use the Internet. According to the Lithuanian Department of Statistics, in the age group of 16-24 years, this figure reaches 99 percent!

By the way, we have not only affordable, but also high-speed Internet. In 2019, the average data transfer rate in the world was 38.23 Mb/s, and in Lithuania - 95.45 Mb/s. Modern network capabilities allow us to use the Internet for study or work, as well as for entertainment.

Today Penki offers Internet on favorable terms - from 5.90 euros per month. Take advantage of our special offer and choose the most suitable plan for you:
