Asian Forum on Banking Technologies 2012 held by BS/2

Published: 27 September 2012 y., Thursday

On September 15, the Asian Forum on Banking Technologies was held in Kyrgyzstan, in the Kapriz Resort, located on the shore of the picturesque Lake Issyk Kul. This event, dedicated to the latest solutions for the banking and retail sectors, was organized by the BS/2 company, a member of the Penki Kontinentai Group. This conference can be seen as a continuation of a series of events dedicated to banking technology in Central Asia. In 2011, Almaty, Kazakhstan, hosted a similar conference for professionals, BS/2 Company's 10th Anniversary: Past, Present and Future.

This year's event gathered the top managers of Kyrgyzstan's, Kazakhstan's, and Uzbekistan's leading banks. The conference was opened by Idrakas Dadašovas, Penki Kontinentai's CEO. In his address, Mr. Dadašovas told the conference participants about the company's current situation and future prospects and stressed the fact that such events were becoming increasingly popular among banking sector professionals.

He said: "We are happy to see an increase in the number of people attending the conference. Because this shows clearly that our company's products attract interest among people from the banking sector of the three Central Asian countries. We managed to align the conference activities with the general business goals, with clearly positive results.

As part of the conference program, BS/2's representatives shared their experience in deploying the company's solutions in the banking sectors of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan. ATMeye.iQ, a video monitoring module, was presented to the participants by BS/2's specialists. The presentation of this solution, which is already well-known to the banking sector of the Baltic region and the CIS, included a discussion of the most common types of fraud and the most effective ways to prevent it. The conference participants learned about BS/2's international presence and its maintenance services that have been offered on the markets of Lithuania, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan for many years.

In addition, during the conference, BS/2's representatives presented Cash Logistics.iQ, a cash flow optimization module, and Payments.iQ, a piece of software for payment applications in terminal networks. They also shared their experience in deploying successful business models for cash recycling in the Baltic states.

The conference featured a talk by Anna Pankraz from Wincor Nixdorf, a German corporation. Ms. Pankraz told the conference participants about the Cineo hardware brand range. BS/2, Wincor Nixdorf's long-time partner, supplies hardware manufactured by the German company to many CIS countries.

An exciting evening program followed the official part of the event. The conference participants went on a boat trip around Lake Issyk Kul, Kyrgyzstan's largest, enjoying a gorgeous panoramic view of the shore and getting a chance to taste traditional Kyzgyz meals.

The next similar conference, which will include presentations and discussions of the most current issues related to banking technology, is scheduled to be held in November this year, in Georgia.
