Azerbaijani Trade Sector Discovers Modern Technological Solutions

Published: 10 April 2015 y., Friday

In early April, Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, hosted the 9th Horex Caucasus International Hospitality Fair 2015 for the hotel, restaurant and commercial sectors. Nearly 400 companies from more than 40 countries, including Italy, Korea, Azerbaijan, Russia, Lithuania, Turkey, and many others, presented their products and services at the event.

Abulfas Garayev, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who opened the exhibition, stressed that his country’s involvement in international culture, sports and science events significantly contributes to the rapid development of hotel, restaurant and commercial sectors. The Minister also pointed out that there’ll be the exhibition’s anniversary next year and invited everyone to participate.

This year was the first time that a Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos (BS/2) delegation participated in the exhibition. BS/2 specialists presented our hardware and software designed for retailers.

According to Emil Musayev, BS/2 Retail Software Sales Project Manager, a large and rapidly growing retail sector of Azerbaijan opens up, bringing forward many new business opportunities. ‘The development of large shopping centres in the country triggered a demand for specialized solutions and it continues to grow. After more than fifteen years in the Azerbaijani market, we know it quite well and therefore can offer the best tailor-made solutions, both hardware and software. Moreover, a BS/2 subsidiary in this country – a company named BSKOM – has already successfully implemented multiple retail projects and is able to provide professional equipment maintenance services,’ said Mr. Musayev.

In the Horex Caucasus 2015 exhibition, BS/2 presented our technical equipment designed for retailers. Those who visited the company’s stand could have learned more about the BEETLE POS product family equipment manufactured by our partner Wincor Nixdorf for cash desk operation automatization. Specialists also offered a glimpse at the Bizerba company’s weighing equipment, Gateway security gate.

Visitors had a chance to get acquainted with our specialized software at the stand. The SuperMag solution designed by ServicePlus company for an all-round supermarket operation automatization attracted considerable interest. In addition, BS/2 presented our Mobile Banking.iQ and Mobile Loyalty.iQ solutions, which are a part of the Mobile.iQ mobile software product family, adapted for mobile devices and serving to accelerate implementation of significant business operations.

XIV AITF International Fair 2015 as well as CIBS 2015 exhibition for boat and yacht lovers, held for the second time, also took place at Horex Caucasus 2015. All of these events were initiated and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as by UNWTO (The United Nations World Tourism Organization), Azerbaijan Tourism Association (AzTA) and ITTFA (International FairofTourism).
