Bankexpo 2019: Advanced IT Solutions and Self-Service Channel Development

Published: 17 April 2019 y., Wednesday

BS/2 and ASHBURN International representatives took an active part in the bank services exhibition BankExpo 2019. The significant event organized by the Association of Banks of Uzbekistan became a large-scale platform for discussing the prospects for the financial sector development and demonstrating innovative banking solutions.

The business sector, international companies, economic experts and banks representatives were the main audience of BankExpo 2019. The guests had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with reforms carried out in the Uzbekistan banking and financial system, as well as with modern technologies and services offered by solution providers.

The largest region banks representatives, as well as the Uzbekistan Banking Association Chairperson Bakhtiyar Khamidov visited the common BS/2 and ASHBURN International (Penki Kontinentai Group) exhibition booth. He noted the importance of introducing innovations in the financial infrastructure and great impact on the service provision quality.

The BS/2 presentation was devoted to the development of the modern ATM functionality. Today, due to the introduction of the specialized solution, self-service devices can easily replace a bank branch. This is especially important for credit institutions seeking to implement a digital transformation strategy and transfer routine operations to multi-functional terminals. Expansion of ATM services allows bank customers to perform many operations quickly and conveniently: exchange currency, pay a loan or bills for mobile communications, and much more.

The keynote of the report by the BS/2 Regional Manager Anton Valinčius was the speech of Ulugbek Tavakkalov, Head of the Retail Business Department of Ipak Yuli Bank. He shared the successful experience of using automated currency exchange points based on Diebold Nixdorf equipment and the FCX.iQ software solution.

“The implemented project confirmed our self-service channel development strategy. We saw in figures that investment in the ATM development is quickly paid off due to good ATM location and large transaction flows. Today, Ipak Yuli has the largest network of automated exchange offices in the country, thereby ensuring an advantage in the competitive struggle for the end customer,” said Ulugbek Tavakkalov.

NAMI (National Association of Microfinance Institutes) representatives were interested in the BS/2 developed solutions for automated cash deposit and payment optimization.

“During the demonstration, we saw a great interest in this topic from Uzbekistani financial organizations. Our company has been presenting the most advanced technologies in BankExpo for several years. We acquaint the guests with the advantages of our solutions and can answer all the questions that arise live. For us, this is a great opportunity to understand the market and real customer demands,” said Anton Valinčius. He also emphasized that BS/2 received the exceptional award from the world leader of the banking and trade equipment Diebold Nixdorf for successful business development in Uzbekistan.

According to Anton Valinčius, three days of BankExpo were full of relevant reports, interesting discussions and presentations, as well as interactive bank programs to attract customers.

A conference with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, the Islamic Development Bank in Uzbekistan, experts from the International Finance Corporation was held during the national exhibition. It was attended by over 1,500 representatives of commercial and state banks of Uzbekistan, insurance, leasing, investment and international IT companies. At the closing ceremony, representatives of the Association of Banks of Uzbekistan awarded all participants of BankExpo 2019.
