Discussions on Using Cloud Technologies for Business Development

Published: 5 March 2020 y., Thursday

Representatives of Penkių kontinentų komunikacijų centras, a company offering ProfIT outsourcing IT services to business, took part in the international conference TRANSFORMING BUSINESS - Working in the Clouds. The event, which took place in Riga, brought together about 300 experts in the field of information and telecommunication technologies from companies Baltic’s Check Point Software Technologies, Cisco Systems, Commvault, RETN Baltic, VMware, iPro, NetApp, RedHat and others.

In world practice, the transfer of business management to the digital space using cloud services is due to the rapid development of information technology. Scale no longer matters as everything is determined by the entrepreneur’s desire to optimize business processes and comply with the trends of the modern society digitalization.

During the conference, company owners, business development and management, and senior executives in IT departments discussed the transition to cloud platforms and the benefits of moving mission-critical systems to the cloud. According to Andrius Kiaune, Head of ProfIT Maintenance Department, during the discussion it was emphasized that the reliability, reputation and technical capabilities (communication, ventilation, hardware and software reliability, security) of the cloud service providers are crucial.

“Today, the price is a decisive argument when choosing a cloud solution, and customers, as a rule, see the benefit only in the short term. This approach will gradually change when the quality and reliability of services come to the fore. Working with cloud technologies will allow entrepreneurs to quickly respond to the emergence of new business tasks, reduce costs, improve data security,” said Andrius Kiaune.

An exhibition was also held during the conference, at which NetApp, RedHat, Vmware, iPro demonstrated their solutions.

“Participation in the conference gave us the opportunity to get a general picture of the industry development, to understand how other service providers live. We met and talked with partners, got acquainted with the solutions and services offered by other companies,” says Andrius Kiaune.

Today, in the digital economy, cloud technologies are becoming the core of the development strategy of Lithuanian enterprises and state organizations. The growing number of ProfIT customers evidences this.
