International Recognition for the Innovative BS/2 Technological Solution

Published: 5 June 2017 y., Monday

During the recent annual partners‘ meeting of Diebold Nixdorf, the world's largest manufacturer of banking equipment, BS/2, which is a member of the Penki Kontinentai group, was awarded the prestigious „Special Achievement Banking 2017“ prize for its innovative technological solution implemented in Azerbaijan.

Last October, BS/2 supplied a fully automated banking department for the financial services provision in the self-service mode to one of the Azerbaijan banks. The VTM.iQ hard- and software unit includes a CS C6060 ATS from Diebold Nixdorf, multifunctional terminal to remotely provide various banking services, as well as specialized software from BS/2. This hard- and software unit is the first one not only in Azerbaijan, but also in other CIS countries, which has no analogues. At present, similar BS/2 unit also operates in Kazakhstan.

Thanks to the videoconferencing technology implemented in VTM.iQ, bank customers have the opportunity to remotely and directly consult with the bank's staff. In just a few minutes, they can make practically any banking transaction – open an account, pay for utilities, services and bills, make an urgent money transfer, arrange a loan, etc. In addition, they can print out the contract, sign and scan it at the terminal. The clients can also order and immediately receive a bank card or activate it right on the spot.

"This high award is a brilliant assessment of our strategy. Today we are able to provide high-quality services to our customers around the world. The modern financial sector requires that a customer‘s visit to the bank branch should be as quick and convenient for him as possible. Besides, the format of bank branches is also changing. There are more and more self-service devices there, and less personnel. The VTM.iQ project that we‘ve implemented is just the case“, Penki Kontinentai Group Board Chairman Idrakas Dadašovas said.

The most numerous BS/2 delegation from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan shared their experiences at the Diebold Nixdorf partners‘ meeting in Madrid, and made presentations on the ongoing projects. The participants of the event were able to learn about the ATM network update project (about 600 ATMs) for a Baltic States‘ largest bank. Another large-scale banking and retail project is now on in Georgia.

Last year the Lithuanian capital company operating in the Georgian market was among the first to offer a full range of the EFT POS network integrated management and maintenance services from a single source, including equipment rental and maintenance, as well as transactions processing.

The annual Diebold Nixdorf partners‘ congress was held from May 30-June 1. During the event, attended by 180 people from 34 countries, the company‘s newest banking and retail hardware was introduced, and the last year‘s results were discussed.

Diebold Nixdorf works with more than 100 world's largest financial institutions and over 25 global retail networks. BS/2 has been collaborating with Diebold Nixdorf for more than two decades.
