Loft and Smart House – Smart Choice!

Published: 26 May 2011 y., Thursday

Loft – a studio type apartment – was a boom in the world one century ago. Today it is becoming more and more popular in Lithuania. Loft Town is one of the major projects related to lofts not only in Lithuania but also throughout Eastern Europe, and developed under investments of Penki Kontinentai group of companies. The goal of the project is to transform a nearly 7,500 square meter building of the former Fuel Equipment Factory located in the capital into a kind of loft city with apartments, studios, and facilities intended for creative activities and work.

Huge studio type housing spaces gives many possibilities for creating original interiors, and requires non–traditional solutions. According to Vaidotas Bijūnas, the Head of Smart Building Projects Department of Penki Kontinentai, a constantly improving technology has led to the idea of so called Loft and Smart House synthesis.

Smart House System controls lighting, heating, ventilation, fire protection system, audio/video equipment, etc. In addition, it automatically controls electricity, water and gas consumption”, said V. Bijūnas.

According to Mr. Bijūnas, the benefit of Smart House System is not only a special comfort, but also significantly lower (up to 40%) utility costs resulting from an optimized system management, time–temperature control and compatibility of the all systems equipped. Moreover, the above mentioned system is controlled with a remote controls, regular switches, thermostats, touch screen, TV, computer, or modern mobile devices. A convenient and simple management enables the users to put away large control panels, dozens of remote controls and wall mounted thermostats.

So, for those, who are looking for an exclusive space and non–standard home, the loft is a great choice; whereas, a flexible Smart House technology will solve the problems of a non–standard interior apartment system management, and ensure safe, economical and comfortable life in the loft.
