On May 25-26, 2022, representatives of "Penki Kontinentai Group" participated in the international PLUS‑Forum “Banks and Retail. Digital Transformation and Interaction”. The event was held in Tashkent, with the support of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At the conference venture capital and IT companies, startups, heads of retail networks and e-commerce, and leading world experts in the banking and payment industry were attended.

BS/2, which belongs to the Penki Kontinentai Group, was the premium sponsor of the forum and together with its partners Diebold Nixdorf, CPS, and S&G presented solutions for ATM security and functionality expansion, cash circulation, and retail optimization.

The latest Diebold Nixdorf ATMs with NFC, ETS, and a modern multi-touch display were demonstrated during the forum.

In addition, for the first time at the forum, counting and sorting equipment from CPS, a leader in cash handling efficiency, which became a partner of BS/2 last year, was shown.

Together with Crystal Service company, cash register solutions based on Set Retail 10 were demonstrated: touch cash registers and CSI K self-service cash register.

BS/2 representatives were speakers at PLUS-Forum. The presentation “Banking self-service as the foundation for the development of a modern bank” was made by Anton Valincius together with Umid Khodjibekov, Head of the Department of Current Activity and Retail Business Control of Ipak Yuli Bank. The report included the premiere of the documentary about Ipak Yuli Bank’s development of its ATM fleet.

Kirill Ovsiannikov, Deputy General Director for Strategic Development of BS/2, made the presentation “Building a unique acquiring ecosystem in Uzbekistan”. He told about the project of implementing the TransLink.iQ platform for managing the acquiring equipment network and routing card transactions. Among the key advantages of using “three-in-one” terminals (cash register, online fiscalization, card acceptance) is the high level of convenience of using the device for the point-of-sale employee and saving customers’ time required to make payments for purchases or services.

Seminar by BS/2 experts: priority of cash optimization

On May 27, 2022, in the conference hall of Hyatt Regency Tashkent hotel there was held a seminar “Cash Optimization. Bank self-service”.

Sanzhar Samsutdinov, head of the department of Tenge Bank, made a report on the automation of cash planning for ATMs and shared his experiences of using Cash Management.iQ, a software product, which solves the problem of optimal cash distribution for cash acceptance and delivery points. Tenge Bank was the first financial institution in the region to implement Cash Management.iQ solution for cash collection order management, cash planning, and monitoring.

Halyk Bank was the first bank in the region to implement a project to optimize cash circulation. Didar Zhankin, Head of the Cash Collection Department of Halyk Bank, spoke about the specifics of optimizing the cash circulation infrastructure in this bank.

Zaur Yusifov, BS/2 Strategic Project Manager, spoke about innovative solutions in cash circulation, and Kirill Ovsiannikov, Deputy General Director for Strategic Development of BS/2, demonstrated the Cash Management.iQ system and its separate module Vault.iQ. At the end of the seminar, Marat Gatiiatov, Director of BS/2 Uzbekistan, conducted a workshop dedicated to working with counting and sorting equipment.

The seminar included demonstrations of:

► X Range X5500 from CPS – a counting and sorting machine with 5 pockets, providing maximum quality of cash processing in cash centers of commercial and central banks, as well as on the side of cash collection and companies from the gambling and retail business.

► Tresmer TBS-1000 – a system of unsorted cash processing, which is a separate workplace for 1-2 teller center operators and allows to speed up by 40-70% the primary cash processing in comparison to wads formation in manual mode.

► HENKOVAC T5 – three-pack high capacity vacuum banknote bagger, made of stainless steel, equipped with a 21 m³/h pump from German company BUSCH.

► SmartTec R6 – a coin counter-sorter with the function of rejecting foreign, broken, and obsolete coins. The increased popularity of this device is predicted in connection with the plans of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan to replace the bills of 1000 sums with coins.

In 2022, PLUS-Forum became a platform for productive business communication between market participants and professional experts, serving as an impetus for the development of innovations in Uzbekistan and promising international projects. The participants of the event had an opportunity to communicate with fintech headliners and get acquainted with advanced equipment and new software solutions in the banking sector.
