Social initiative at the Penki kontinentai art galleries

Published: 3 August 2022 y., Wednesday

On the last Friday of July, the social initiative "Mind, beauty, health - the beginning of our future" was held in the Penki kontinentai art galleries. Teenage girls supporting a healthy lifestyle took photos with the artwork of the gallery.

The social campaign was organized by the “We ourselves” center in Grigiškės, which is a division of the Vilnius Open Youth Center. The aim of the campaign is to draw attention to the harm that smoking, alcohol, and psychotropic substance consumption causes to society.

"We want to show young people that life can be interesting and beautiful without the use of alcohol. A photo session is a way to meaningfully spend your free time, and explore art in galleries. Teenagers who wanted to participate in the campaign had to prove that they do not have any bad habits and that they do not smoke, drink or use drugs. This social initiative is a gift to them for their strength, faith in themselves, their family, and their bright future", says Tatjana Černiavskienė, the organizer of the social campaign, a former specialist of the police commissariat, and head of the "We ourselves" center.

During the campaign, teenagers took photos in the “We ourselves” center in Grigiškės, in the Penki kontinentai art galleries, and on the streets of Vilnius city. Their clothes were provided by the F8 store, their makeup was done by a volunteer makeup artist Leonidas Krivenkoi, and the girls were photographed by photographer Alisa Černiavskytė.

"I wanted to participate in this campaign because I support a healthy lifestyle, I do not smoke, I do not drink. In addition, I was curious to try out what it means to participate in a photo shoot," says Faustė, who participated in the campaign.

The visitors of the “We ourselves” center participated in the photo session. Among them, there was a girl with special needs, who was sincerely amazed by the modernly equipped gallery spaces and various art pieces.

The youth center "We ourselves" in Grigiškės is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It is intended for young people to spend their free time meaningfully. There is a gym where young people can exercise, and a kitchen where they can cook or bake. Various creative workshops are constantly held here, and the space itself resembles a museum of modern art - it is decorated with paintings by visitors, CDs, puzzles, and other works of art.

Penki kontinentai art galleries are spaces that belong to the Penki kontinentai group. They exhibit works of art brought from all over the world, selected by the founder and the chairman of the Group, Idrakas Dadašovas.

The Penki kontinentai Group gifted the "We ourselves" center a computer, provided the galleries for a photo shoot, and also prepared a video report.
