The latest ATM and Software Trends at Southeast Asia ATMs 2016

Published: 5 May 2016 y., Thursday

At the end of April Thailand’s capital Bangkok hosted the Southeast Asia ATMs 2016 conference. The event gathered together the world’s largest banking hardware and software manufacturers, such as Wincor Nixdorf, Diebold, ESQ, TMD Security, KAL ATM Software, Glory Global Solutions and many others. This largest in Southeast Asia event dedicated to the ATM market novelties, is annually organized by the ATM Industry Association (ATMIA) and RBR (Retail Banking Research) consulting company.

During the conference, the participants discussed the latest market trends; much attention was given to bank branches automation and self-service concepts. Self-service devices, new products for mobile and contactless payments, software and hardware solutions designed for banks were presented. Both Southeast Asian bankers and guests agreed that the most significant world financial news are those about the bank branches transformation, cash circulation reduction, better and faster customer service. According to experts, given the increasing number of different payment channels, those issues become extremely important.

Representatives from Penkių kontinentų bankinės technologijos (BS/2) have also visited the event – and displayed their .iQ software family. Just to mention, ATMeye.iQ solution that provides the ATM security was a real hit at the conference.

According to Boris Kuzmas, Head of BS/2 Marketing Department, the properly protected ATM network helps to avoid potential risks and increase the customers’ loyalty. "Due to fraud and other illegal ATM-related activities, banks and their customers bear heavy losses. ATMeye.iQ solution protects self-service devices from a variety of physical and logical threats; it constantly surveys the surroundings, captures all suspicious activities near an ATM and transfers the footage to responsible institutions. Customers are protected from data theft, ATM downtime and losses go down", - B. Kuzmas says.

B. Kuzmas has also made a speech at the conference ("The right "dish" for your ATM network"). The main issue was how specialized software solutions can make ATM not just a cash dispensing and accepting machine, but also a safe multi-function self-service system that can not  only deliver a higher profit and customers’ loyalty but also successfully accompany the bank on its branch transformation journey.
