An Estonian court ordered that Hemo Heybet Amedsson, 40, be detained for 40 days after he was arrested in the Baltic state in mid-June as he tried to enter illegally.
Tatjana Derkats, the secretary for the Tallinn district court told AFP the appeal, lodged last week, would be discussed on Wednesday.
Amedsson is suspected of belonging to banned Kurdish militant group Kawa and is also on the international wanted list.
The Estonian media has reported that while the Turkish authorities have made unofficial approaches to Tallinn, they have not officially demanded that he be extradited.
