German chip manufacturer "Zentrum Mikroelektronik Dresden" invited Kasparov to open a new production line in their Dresden factory and then play a simul in Leipzig.
Many of the 16 players in this simul were strong club players. The next day, Garry played a 21-board simul in Ebersberg, which is near Munich in Bavaria; this simul raised 25,000 German Marks for the Children’s Cancer Society in Ebersberg. In the two simuls, the opposition managed one draw, the rest lost.
