Former Portland Trail Blazers center Arvydas Sabonis will play for his hometown Lithuanian team Zalgiris Kaunas for the second season, team officials confirmed.
"Sabonis will play for Zalgiris. He intends to play all season," Gediminas Navikauskas, Zalgiris marketing director told AFP.
The 2.20-meter centre played for the Trail Blazers from 1996-2002 but is also a co-owner of Zalgiris, the team where he started his career in 1984.
The 39-year-old Sabonis helped Zalgiris win the Lithuanian championship last season. But the team failed to make the Euroleague final four after a dramatic loss to Maccabi Tel Aviv in the final game.
