V. Kramnik has stood up again

Published: 13 October 2000 y., Friday
Yesterday in London the third party of the match between the world champion Garry Kasparov and Vladimir Kramnik, where thirty years old G. Kasparov played with white chessmen, took place. Before this party was begun the score was 1,5:0,5 in favor of the pretender, so the champion had a chance to even the score.

Opening of the party till the thirteenth move passed according to the scenario of the first party, but Kasparov found much better plan and his position became more perspective. Furthermore, it was the first time V. Kramnik has used up more time than his opponent. Though position of the black was worse, the pretender defended very strongly and managed at the fifty-third move to even the score with the help of the rook only.

The next party will be tomorrow, on the 14th of October and you are welcome to watch it online at www.chess.lt website.
