Negotiations are continuing to free a Ukrainian ship hijacked by Somali pirates with 33 tanks and other military hardware abroad. Gunmen have demanded 20 million dollars (USD) to release the MV Faina, seized in a hijacking last week. A spokesman for the pirates said there were about 53 Somalis on board and refused to negotiate the terms of the crew release stating the captors will remain on board until their demands are met. A Russian warship is on the way to the region. Somalia has given the crew permission to use force against the pirates.
