BS/2’s sixth technical service centre established in Alytus

Published: 22 March 2011 y., Tuesday

At the beginning of this year, a technical service centre belonging to BS/2 Company, a member of the Penki kontinentai group, was established in Alytus. This is the sixth such centre in Lithuania and the twelfth in the Baltic countries. Similar service centres are already operating in Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda, Šiauliai and Panevėžys.

“All the service centres established in Lithuania are autonomous and they can offer services not only in their own regions, but also in neighbouring regions, which is very important when one of the regional service centres is experiencing some sort of unexpected problem. Within a relatively short time we have managed to reduce to a minimum the risk of down time of the banking equipment that we look after”, said BS/2 Technical Department director Tomas Bublys.

According to Mr. Bublys, across all BS/2 subsidiary companies there is a total of about 70 certified technical maintenance specialists employed, who look after about 4,000 installations.

Tomas Bublys continued: “All the orders relating to the equipment of banks and financial institutions are processed centrally at our Lithuanian office 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, using the business processes optimisation module Service Desk.iQ. This module was created using the recommendations of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and it enables the installations to be fully controlled in real time in the countries where this system is installed”.

With the help of Service Desk.iQ, BS/2 currently looks after self–service installations in seven countries: Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Kirgizstan.
